About Your Dentist

Leslie Hehir, DMD

Dr. Leslie Hehir has been practicing dentistry in Forsyth County since 1996.  Her married name is of Irish origin and was changed from O’Hehir as the family moved from Ireland. It is pronounced like “hair”.  She is a native Georgian who grew up in Marietta and graduated from Sprayberry High School.  She attended the University of West Georgia in Carrollton and graduated with a pre-med degree in 1992.  She headed straight to Augusta and attained her dental degree from the Medical College of Georgia dental school.  After graduating from MCG in 1996, Dr. Hehir and her husband, Jimmy, moved to Alpharetta where she made the commute to join Dr. Wheeler’s practice in Cumming.  Dr. Hehir now calls Forsyth county her home residing there with her husband and two young children, Carter and Brenna.  She spends most of her non-working time enjoying Lake Lanier and loving her family.  Because she is a mom and is fortunate to have her family local, Dr. Hehir places a strong emphasis on “family time” and keeps them close to her heart.  As a businesswoman, Dr. Hehir focuses on incorporating these same values when treating her patients, like they are her own family.  She realizes the importance of each patient’s individual needs, concerns and fears and takes the time to understand these issues as well as conquering them before beginning treatment.
